Challenge

  • Global manufacturing company needed to improve its business steering: better visibility to sales and operations and ability to make decisions
  • Global exposure to numerous markets in different continents – many of them being volatile in their own cycles. This combined with a broad product portfolio, long supply chain lead times and a network of ca. 30 production units makes sales forecasting and supply chain steering exceptionally challenging
  • Adding to the challenge existing processes didn’t offer the needed agility

  • Working closely with the client team, August used an iterative’ ‘trial-and-error’ approach to develop a new S&OP process and supporting tools: a small group of key stakeholders conducted two pilot process rounds, where the process and tools were tested in action
  • After the pilots, the new process and tools were immediately rolled-out across the global organization
